Born on a cusp?
The Sun changes signs at a slightly different moment every year. If your birthday is on the first or last day of a sign, add your time of birth and we will check the exact moment for your birth year.
Questions
What decides my zodiac sign?
The position of the Sun at the moment you were born. The Sun spends about a month in each of the twelve signs of the tropical zodiac.
Why do sign dates differ between websites?
The Sun enters each sign at a slightly different time every year, so the boundary days move by up to a day. Most sites show average dates; this calculator uses the exact moments from 1930 to 2030.
What if I was born on a cusp?
You still have one Sun sign. If the Sun changed signs on your birthday, the calculator shows the time it happened; enter your birth time to see which side of that moment you were born on. The time is read in your current time zone, so convert it first if you were born elsewhere.
Do I need my birth time?
Only if you were born on the first or last day of a sign. For every other date the birthday alone is enough.
